Hello everyone,
I am so sorry for taking so long to update the postcards on this website. I am now catching up with the postcards i should have sent long time ago!!
This postcard are going to tell you about Moruca, Region One, West Coast Demerara and it is really beautiful country side with the village based middle of nowhere! I went there with Joanna as we would like to explore the places that I havent been to as it will make most of her stay and me exploring the place together.
The journey from Georgetown to Moruca, via land and water took us nearly 7 hours! but when we arrived the place, it was worth it and we fall in love with the place.
We explore the surround area quickly before it get dark and we met the host of the bed/breakfast and make an arrangement for the payment, but i realise that i brought just enough money for dinner and beds cos i misjudged the cost of travelling and hotel prices too. so we are lucky to have snacks and some breads and cheese to keep going for the weekend! we chill out and had a lovely homemade dinner which it is local favourite of corunca (cant spell it!)and have a game of cards while catching up with news and went to bed late at night.
Next day, we looked around the place and went further into forest to meet another village and explore the place, it is really small but got most of the basic needs for the local people. they are staring at us cos we are only white people in the place! Joanna didnt like it but i am used to it! some came to have chat with us but we didnt understand them cos they speaking creole (Mixed up english to us but make sense to them!) but they can see we dont understand them and left us alone. we keep looking around the village and further more of the forest. The place is really lovely and relaxing with lovely weather :)
We went back to house and have snack and chill out in the sun, reading the book and chatting more news and gossips! we had dinner of supernoodles and bread. we then play cards and learned new tricks from each others. :)
We woke up very early the next morning to travel back to Georgetown, it took less than 5 hours as it was much more smoother and we was totally worn out when we arrived back to Georgetown but it was worth it and our experience will never be forgetten.
Sorry that there are no photos of Moruca as my camera was dead for some reason :(
Hope you enjoy the story
Steven & Joanna/xxxx
