After today's activities we headed off to Taupo only after impossibly trying to find somewhere to fill our gas cylinder. We were just munching some food by the lake when we got speaking to a couple who said there was a free campsite just down the road. Woke up next day intending to drive straight to Waitomo to see the glow worm caves, after a visit to the information centre we had a look round a small free gold mining museum as Waihi was an old gold mining town.
