Headed off from Geraldine as it was crap, decided to head to the small town of Mount Cook which was beside the highest Mountain in New Zealand of the same name. We stopped off in Lake Tekapo for the night which was sitting beside a massive lake right at the base of the mountain range. They had a weird statue of a dog for some reason which I couldn't figure out. Again didn't do much except skim some stones off the lake for a while.
Next day and we had breakfast by the lake and then headed off up to mount cook, was dying for some snow so I could get the snow chains out but annoyingly there wasn't one bit of snow on the roads. Stopped off at the Tasman Glacier on the way up, expecting a proper glacier it was a bit disappointing when we found heaps of rocks, which we were told was moraine and seeing I didn't come here for a geography lesson we headed on back up the road to Mount Cook. Absolutely not much to do here unless your in to your hiking, we walked around a couple of the short tracks and then decided to head back down the road a bit and sleep somewhere else. Made it to a place called Twizel and found a campsite.
Next day and I decided I was dying for a haircut as my mop was getting worse everyday. I had my clippers with me so I thought id let Brid just tidy it up a wee bit at the back, I must have really annoyed her the day before as she decided to try and take my head off with the clippers, and left a horrible big bald patch on the back of my head. The hat instantly went on and we headed off to the next big town to find a hairdresser, wasn't too chuffed when we reached Oamaru and the hairdresser was closed and wouldn't open till Monday. Not much else happened apart from me sulking with Brid for destroying my amazing new hair and some book reading.
