Another breakfast by the lake and we escaped just in time as the camping fee's boyo came round just as we were driving off. We headed to Cromwell, a small old gold mining town, there wasn't much to do except go pan handling, unluckily we didn't find any massive nuggets.
Next day and off to Wanaka, the drive through the mountain range is pretty good. Quite a small town and some of the locals are a wee bit up themselves but it seems nice. Not really that much to do here and plus we need to save some money as we've spend heaps. Just sat around next to the lake reading our books.
Next day we were both knackered as some t*** had woken us up at 4 in the morning to tell us to move on. We had a lie in till around 11 then headed off to puzzle world, it looked like good fun in the brochure and there was heaps of stuff to play with. We started off in a giant maze where you had to reach all four corners, it was harder than it looked and it took us about an hour to finish, we had a race back to the start I managed to beat Brid with some skillful fence jumping. Then we wandered around the illusions room and played with the puzzles in the reception for ages. After puzzle world we walked up to the top of mount Iron, the view was pretty nice from the top and luckily it was a nice day so we didn't get rained on. We drove North for a hour or so to find a campsite so sleep for the night, here the found the best skimming stones lake in the world, it had unlimited skimming stones, that kept us entertained for at least 2 hours. Annoying a group of minks played crappy heavy metal all night so we didn't get much sleep.
