After warming up this morning after a very cold night compared to recent nights and an extremely wet start with so much rain pounding on the van we drove the rest of the Catlins drive. This morning we woke to rain battering the van, we were in two minds as to what to do. Apparently in the rain though you get to see more waterfalls down the mountains than usual and it's still pretty good but we don't have waterproofs and we were thinking if you can't get outside is it going to be worth it. Overnight in the car park was fine apart from it being absolutely freezing! We got up and treated ourselves by setting off to Mcdonalds, breakfast, free wifi and most importantly warmth. After eventually feeling warm again we hit the road. We are heading for Milford Sound today, which is a Fiord (a narrow inlet with steep sides, created in a valley carved by glacial activity-thanks wikipedia).
