The last two days have been really, hot. LIKE THE HOTTEST WEATHER I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!
I think its because it is so humid here and I am not used to it. I am used to the dry hot wind you get in Canberra, so this is defs a different Experience!
Because of the weathers, things seems to be going a little slower around here! I have been in the water sevreal times to cool off and try to keep in the shade as much as possible. However yesterday afternoon, I stupidly volunteered to join the girls in a fitness bootcamp! ( Keep in mind it was about 36 degrees!)
MAN - it was so hot that I actually wanted to run faster because it meant you got a nice gust of wind on your face!
I always sit on the sideline filming kids playing basketball or soccer in the afternoon sun and cannot belileve how they are not dying of heat, however, after I acutally did the bootcamp I founf it in some weird twisted up way, that it seems cooler when you are playing! Whether it is because your concentrating on somthing else, or the movement creates wind to cool you down, im not sure but it was very funny to find out!
There is guy here for two days who is a drummer, and he has been taking drumming workshops. It is great fun and I have been hanging around a lot!
It reminds me of the folk festival with about 50 kids playing bongo drums in a fashion that actually makes them sound good! It is great to film! I was able to chat with the two drumming guys quite a bit and one of them is a rock drummer from New York! He has been in a band that has opened for some pretty up there bands. I was starstruck! He was the first indie/hipster I have seen in this country and it reminded me of home!
We have his number and are planning to meet up with him when we get in NY! He said he will take us arounf all the good places for bands when we get there!
I love Networking!
Its supposed to thunderstorm this afternoon and I really hope it does because we could do with a cool change, should I admit I may be slightly wanting to have just one day in cold canberra?
