Hi all,
So I am not going to go through the last 5 or so days in order, but I am going to fill you all in on the best things that have happened at camp!
HORSERIDING - There are four horses for the campers and councillers to use as they wish so on my offperiods this is one of my fave places to go! I have ridden three of the four horses and they are all great! over here saftey is no where near as strict as it was at poney club or anything. I road in vans, shorts and no helmet! Pretty scary but in the arena it was fine!
It seems like a hot job for Kerrie and Haley who are the two horse instructiors, but it seems so much fun! I think they are about to open up the cross country trail ride which is going to be so so fun!
LAKE - I think I have talk a little about this before but wow SO MUCH FUN! the water is super warm and almost clean. I caught a huge fish which for me was a great acheivement! until I was told I had to kiss it. EWW moldy fish, it didn't help that jack was doing a pretty bad job at holding the fish and it nearly jumped out of his hands!
I also had been lucky enough to rise on a jet ski AND the tube! Most scary and exciting thing ever! Mike was lovely enough to let me have a go on the tube, but was determinded to try and throw me off. NOt SO LUCKY! I held on with all the strengh I could muster and managed to stay on. a few time my legs slipped off the side and I was sure I was going to fall. but no! I also got some mad air time flying really high at one point.
4TH OF JULY - So the 4th of July is quite an important day in America, it like their version of Australia day. Celebrations at camp went for two days.
It started on the third of July morning where we had a water carnival. This basically means the camp hired out three huge blow up obsitcale courses for the pools and we were let loose on them!
There was one mega slide which was fantastic because it actually went super fast! I slammed into the bottem a lot harder than I expected! I was basically a huge pool party! and lucky me, the video person, I was able to stay there for THE WHOLE MORNING
in the afternoon the camp hopped onto a HUGE line of buses ( about 12 yellow buses)
and we headed to the CoKe Cola Park!
For those of you whole don't know what this is, it is a baseball area and boy it was just like in the movies!
Bright green fields, the typical baseball tune played by a slightly off tune band. The hot dogs, popcorn, fairy floss. Fans wearing team uniforms, and bill board signs. They even had the big screen that roves the audience looking for people who will kiss or dance or show their muscles for the camera.
No one was really that interested in the game, the enteriment and food was far more important. I don't even think more of the audience actually knew who won the game in the end, but thats was fine! at every turnover there would be a new game or giveaway to keep the audience involved. someone in my row of seats even captured of the balls that was thrown!
there were lots of t-shirts that were shot into the crown by a hand made slingshot, and they found three small kids and dressed them in piglet costumes and made them race. They even had a " who has the worst hair" vote. It was so much fun!
We ended the day with a lot of fireworks
On the actual 3th of July in the morning everyone dressed in Blue, Red and which and we has a hexathlon! This is basically like a triathlon but instead of three sports it was eight.
There was an obsitcale course, long jump, sprint, hockey shot and many more, I was able to try all of them but fail a lot!
it was a really fun celebration and I know If I ever come back to USA I will defs go to another baseball game!
THE NIGHTS - on my night off this week I was lucky enough to be able to get lifts out to places quite a bit!
One night I went with Micaela, Kelsey, Mike and Chole to a famous American chain called Applebees!
IT WAS VERY YUMMY! I just wished I could drink because they had $5 cocktails! YUM
I also went to see the transformers movie which was good but very action, ( to be honest I nearly fell asleep!!)
I am heading to Walmart tomorrow night to get some more supplies and tonight I don't know what I am doing yet!!
CRAZY!
Anyway, like I said, Ill try to keep you more updated but its pretty tricky, im almost flat out!
I get my Mac Laptop tomorrow so I am very excited!
