Today we went to Hershey Park!

For most of camp I have been looking forward to this day, and it finally arrived!

Firstly I'll tell you a little bit about Hershey park.

Once upon time there was a very thoughtful man who really liked chocolate. He worked on a dairy farm and had the best milk in the country. And one day he decided to invent a new kind of chocolate with the milk from his farm. With a little milk and sugar and just the right amount of everything and the most popular brand of chocolate in USA as born. Mr Hershey then managed to build a multiple billion dollar empire on chocolate and he wasn't even fat.

They named a town after him which is where his famous chocolate factory and theme park is. That is where we went today.

As councilors we were all given a few Kids to take around and I was lucky and got 3 of the best kids in our bunk! Although they didn't really go on any of the rides I didn't really mind. It was still great to look around the factory and the theme park. Anyway it was too hot to stand in long lines and I am a bit of a wise anyway!

We walked through some of the shops full of amazing American candy and the usual Overly priced souvineers. It was stinking hot though, I swear there wasn't a person in the whole park that didnt have sweat patches!

After looking around we headed to the famous merry go round which has the very first ride that was created in this theme park, not very exciting but the line wasn't too long! I was time for air con by then so we headed to the chocolate factory! We tried the hugest chocolate covered strawberries i had ever seen! Looked at how chocolate was made here in USA and spent hours looking around the gift shop, which was huge btw- more like a shopping mall.

Before I go on, I just want to make sure you all realize american chocolate is actually no where near as yummy as british, europe or aussie stuff. They dont really have deluxe chocolates like lindt or forerro rochers. They have supersize chocolate which is way to sweet, one bite and you gain 100 kgs. So its not too fun.

After learning how to make the chocolate, and an amazing sit down lunch! I had real meat! - camp food sucks. We went on a cool laser tag game twice which I blitzed everyone, and we went and designed our own cupcakes! I shared a cookie dough one with my camper and like I mentioned, I had two bites and was sick! It looked so good though I was very Proud!

We didn't think we had spent enough money yet so the campers decided the easiest way to change this was tonged to the arcade games. Five minutes later we were broke.

So hot, stuffed with food and totally broke we headed to a free jazz concert which was actually very good, they played songs from people like the Jackson five and everyone knew the words!

Just as we headed back to the buses a huge rainstorm started! Wet but happy we piled onto the bus for a two hour drive home. It was a very nice sleep!
