After having breakfast at 9am we caught the tram down to the train station to go to the Tourist Information office to get directions on how to reach Uetliberg and the Lindt-Sprüngli chocolate factory.
We caught the S10 train to Uetliberg, a mountain overlooking Zurich. The low cloud meant that visibility was poor but the cloud meant we were given the treat of a heavy snow flurry while walking to the top of the mountain.
At the top of the mountain we climbed the tower to see what views we could have and found that the weather was starting to clear as visibility on one side was improving. We walked back down to the bottom of the mountain and were about to board the train back to Zurich when we saw that the weather was clearing quickly.
We went back to the top of the mountain to see if the visibility had improved in the direction of the city but it had not. We caught the following train back to Zurich.
We had lunch and then caught the S8 train to Kilchberg along the banks of the Zurichsee to visit the Lindt-Sprüngli chocolate factory. We checked out the free display on their factory, its history and also the history of choclate. It was mildly interesting but the best part was the free chocolate at the end of the tour which was generous considering entry to the displays was free.
Walked down to the nearby boat station hoping to catch a boat back to Bürkliplatz to get a cruise on the lake. The next boat was not for another hour so we walked back to the train station and caught the train back to Zurich.
On arrival back in Zurich we crossed the road from the train station to the Landsmuseum. We had a quick look inside then went back to our hotel for a rest before catching the tram back to Bahnhofstrasse to look for something to eat for dinner.
Eventually decided on the buffet restaurant at Coop Department store which had good food at a reasonable price. We caught the tram down to Bürkliplatz to take some pictures of Uetliberg from the city before returning to our hotel by tram.
