Arrived in Geneva at 1.55pm after a 3.5 hour trip from Paris on the TGV. Passed through customs without any problems and walked across the the road to our hotel, Le Warwick.
Checked in without any hitches and dropped off our bags in our room. Returned to the train station to book our seat on the train to Berlin on Sunday then back to our room to pick up our day packs and walked down to the Tourist Information Centre to get some information on our trip to Montreux the next day to see Chateau de Chillon.
The Tourist Information Centre was hopeless but told us where we could find boats for a cruise on Lake Geneva. We walked down to the shore of the lake and went on a 1 hour cruise on Lake Geneva. Weather was not that great but we had great views of the city and the Jet d'Eau.
Back on land we went in search of an ATM to get some Swiss Francs. Couldn't find one anywhere! Stumbled upon a different Tourist Information Centre which was much better. They told us where we could find an ATM and also suggested we catch the train to Montreux. We got a timetable then went back to our room, dropped off our bags and then went out to dinner. Ended up at McDonalds as everywhere else was either closed or extremely expensive. Back to the room for a rest and sleep.
