After breakfast we set out to Place de le Concorde to see the Egyptian obelisk, fountains and the site of the execution of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.

Caught the Metro to Pont Neuf to go to La Samaritaine, a department store with a lookout on the 11th floor. Went to the lookout and paid the €2 each to check out the views of Paris.

Walked to internet cafe where we caught up on news from back home and gave everyone an update on our trip! Bought a sandwich each from a roadside stall and went back to our hotel to eat our lunch. Went to the coffee shop next door to the hotel to relax and have a cup of coffee before heading out for dinner for our last night in Paris.

We ate at a restaurant called Vesuvio on the Champs Élysées on a roadside table. Continued down to McDonalds for a 50c icecream then on to the Arc de Triomphe to take some pictures of the Arc by night and to see the traffic chaos one more time.

We went back to our hotel to pack for our trip to Geneva the next day. Just as we were about to go to bed we noticed water leaking from the ceiling near the doorway. The airconditioning had sprung a leak and water was pouring down the wall. We turned off the airconditioner, put towels on the floor and called reception to let them know what had happened.

The man at reception said he'd come up to our room in a few minutes to see what he could do. Half an hour later he still hadn't come up so we went down to reception and he was talking on the phone. When he was ready he said he'd fill out a maintenance form in the morning and then did nothing, he had no intention of coming and seeing what was wrong! We asked for a couple of extra towels as we had used ours to mop up the water..he would only give us one! Nice!! We eventually got to bed at 10pm.
