It was raining again and their was the weirdest mist hanging over the bay. It made for a boring morning so I made myself hot chocolate for the first time in ages. It was good apart from making it with UHT milk instead of some nice fresh creamy milk from home! Paid Ian for my Open Water dive qualification which cost about £70 ($95) - a bargain considering everywhere else in Africa wants around $300-400 for the same thing!
Went off to finish the painting but when I was searching for the paint a 1.5-metre bush snake slithered out! Painting the walls there are loads of geckos (as there has been everywhere we've been in Africa) and I accidentally caught a couple with white paint, so their camouflage isn't going to be that great anymore. Jack however decided to wipe a big centipede which was jet black. That thing definitely won't be lasting long in the open!
When moving some speakers from the deck we then came across a common tiger snake! It was orange and black banded but apparently it's not very dangerous. You can see how awesome it is to live out here if you find wildlife interesting - you come across so much stuff especially when you least expect it! They even have a big barn owl and lots of bushbabies (small monkey like creatures which girls will think are cute teddys) living in the old building at the end of the complex.
