5 nights to be had at Seaforth a small town North of MacKay. With an intalude to the Whitsundays in the middle to celebrate Melrose's naughty 40th and Fathers day.
First day spent exploring and trying to catch a fish off Seaforth. No fish and no bites, what a disapoitment.
Friday waking to pancakes and then driving to Airlie Beach. The afternoon was spent sitting around the public pool area, then a quick change and out for dinner to Airlie Beach Yacht Club. Beautiful view and yummy meal. Lotte organising cup cakes for dessert.
Saturday we took a cruise on the Jet Fury out to the Whitsundays. Snorkling first up and we all hired wetsuits. Thank goodness as it made the 20 deg water feel so much more bearable and we were all able to enjoy the great coral and beautifully coloured fish. Next was to Whitehaven Beach for lunch, swim, walk and relax. What a beautiful part of our Australia. Returning to Airlie Beach and saying bye to our very entertaining deck hand.
Sunday bought Fathers Day and no better way to spend it fishing and out in the boat- just what Tim woanted. But unfortunatly this was another day of no sucess in catching any fish. We did have a nice picnic lunch on Newery Island (from 1940 to around 1990's it was a resort island before it ws taken over by the national parks) still reminants left from this history.
