AWOONGA LAKE
Excited about heading to Lake Awoonga to stay,
We planed to rest up for 7 days.
Without to much fuss into the caravan park we did get the big blue bus.
Lake Awoonga is popular to ski,
We all had a go, Tim got up and didn't get a sore knee.
Lake Awoonga we want to catch a big barra but the temperature is all a wronga.
Tim cast a lure and it got stuck up a tree,
With a lot of determination he did get it free.
Lotte was not able to snore as she was in charge of the rescuing ore.
Archie found a huge pelican feather, as long as his arm it did measure.
Looking like a small aeroplane are many pelicans, their wings have huge spans.
Melrose and Tim in the lake went for a nudie swim.
Tannam Sands for a day out, we head to the park for a snack.
A magpie was protecting its family and did come in for a vicious attack.
Up the Boyne River we did see something quite strange,
We were a little nervous as we are out if range.
Maybe it is a croc, no it's a turtle, great thats much better stock.
Gladstone another day in the boat,
We had a good bight it gave a good fight
It did not hang around although we hoped it might.
The mining magnitude is unbelievable at this warf
In our small boat we did feel like a dwarf.
Workers ferries, 21 cranes counted what monstrosities, here is construction galore,
We are sure there must be plenty more.
Off to 1770 (and Agnus Waters) for 2 nights camping in our swags, it's forcast to rain it could be a drag.
We took a chance but on the second night ended up wet as shags.
At the campsite there were blue butterflies galore,
Nothing like we had ever seen before.
We drove to Eurimbuka NP it was ace, although Mum demanded she needed 10 meters space.
Sitting on the beach eating homemade sushi, Dad telling very funny stories- how juicy.
Next day was out on the water with our lovely son and daughter.
We caught a flathead and with no further ado cooked him up on the foreshore BBQ.
Watching the footy looking over the bay, a win by 3 for the Hawks,
A close semi final, Archie's eyes were out on stalks.
We will be sad to say goodbye to Awoonga, we only have one day longer.
The End
Goodby and here is the rain. We are next driving to Gin Gin and then Lansbourugh to arrive at the Lockhart's for Thursday 25the Sept.
This will be school hoildays and we have heaps to look forward to. :)
