Staying at Jolimont caravan park, nice quiet park with pool and good facilities about 50 km North of Mackay.
Double day of school to have Wednesday off and head to Mackay.
Wednesday drove to Seaforth a nice seaside town.
As we drove into town we saw a huge beautiful 5m+ python crossing the road so as usual Fidge wanted a photo so we stopped. It's body was as wide as a plumbing pipe and had defined brown and light brown patterns. Unfortunately the photo didn't happen as the next car that drove past ran over this amazing creature and "popped" it. This was pretty sad for all of us and bought on many tears and sad/angry emotions.
We then headed to Hillsborough National Park. Amazing beach, surrounded by islands and interesting rock formations.
Mackay has a nice new huge marina, good fish and chips and well priced so this is where we had lunch. From the marina we counted at least 20 ships off the coast, so there must be a lot of exporting leaving from around here. Most likely mining. We then moved into town to the water park. The kids had fun but it was not warm enough for Tim and Melrose to swim.
