Mid-term exams are behind, time to start some spring break! Yes, we have exams here just like back in home. From last monday until yesterday we had two exams here per day: two Bahasa language test, tourism management, history & culture, Econimics of South East Asia and Law & legal trading. Because of the exam week, life here has been more studying and reading and less other activities. Last sunday and yesterday I didn't even surf, mostly 'cos my shoulders were screaming for some rest and the weather was bad also, but still that's a real effort from me. Exams were all open book exams, so we had our lecture notes with us. This arrangement has its pros and cons: You don't have to remember every little detail nor are they asking those little details, but here they concentrate more to the big picture and how you apply the given material to these questions. Sounds just like opposite than my own university, where you try to remember and learn previous tests and hope you remember those non-relevant little details. But the exams went quite well, even though time limits were pushing against... for example tourism management test had 6 essays to write and only 1.5 hours were given to complete it.

This week including last sunday has been quite good despite the exams and bad weather. Last sunday we had a BBQ evening in Dmitri's and Maikel's place near Padang-Padang. Henkka and I brought some sausages and bacons, others had brought fish, different salads and for dessert bananas with chocolate washed away with couple of cold beers of course. That was also Simon's last evening here… hard to say goodbyes and hope we meet again. Nevertheless awesome way to start the week! Firing up the grill was actually the most Finnish thing I've done here, showed to the others how we do it in Finland. The main picture is from the barbeque. Yesterday we had also another BBQ party in Indri's house, who is a local student here. She had bought a bucket of ribs and other stuff with those cold beers again, of course. So long story short: BBQ, beers and studying.

This week included a lot of preparing to the exams and the whole house was quite peaceful because everybody was reading or doing their own stuff. I decided to read in my room and on the roof terrace and Henkka was also spending much time there. We haven't had Internet here like in 4 days because of the storm, but I guess it was good for the exam preparation. Also today is the last day we live in this Pecatu house. The guys are planning to move to Seminyak after vacation and the girls + Ole rented house near this one. I don't know where I'm gonna live after the vacation, but I don't worry about that now. Today I'm heading out to Lombok with Joonas (yeah buddy, you had your name here now!). We're gonna spend the weekend there and afterwards the road is open again. I wanna go to Sumba and Sumbawa, but let's see wherever my adventures will take me. I don't know when my next entry will come because probably the connections are bad wherever I'm gonna go, so be patient. Peace Out!
