Last words from the previous post said something that life is pretty good here right? Well, everything has downsides... this time it was called food poisoning. Last sunday evening I started vomiting, one mouthful after another approximately between every half an hour. This rhythm lasted the next 20 hours, my longest and darkest hours here. I drank lots of fluids just to full up the tank for the next round and trying to avoid cramps, success and no cramps this time! This disease had quite good timing, because if you remember my friend Taru came here and now she had something to do while the others was in school... she was taking care of me and my whiny nature, lucky me and thanks/sorry Taru!
So after this puke-up -marathon, I was able to attend school on wednesday. I sat there quietly the whole day just waiting to get off, I was too tired to pay attention and learn anything. After the school day, we drove to Canggu beach and put Taru on a surfboard. Quite ruff day there with all the onshore wind and currents, but she managed to get on her knees at least. I also got couple of good waves, but still felt little tired because of the sickness. My frustration level was higher than ever, I wanted to surf but no can do when body and mind doesn't cooperate. Luckily this was fixed next day, when we conquered Bingin beach with Ole. Awesome beach and waves were pretty consistent. At first I sucked there and after couple of waves I managed to perform the nose dive of the year and all over to a well-oiled washing machine. One thing that I've learned is not to panic under water and because of that I was ready to go again with that good old smile in my face. One wave can make a session, that last left wave was powerful, long and beautiful... and there it was, the one feeling you get only on your board. Cheers Bingin!
Today was Taru's last whole day here, so we decided to take a look around village called Ubud. It is famous from the movie Eat, Pray, Love. Very easy going place with lots of unique little stores, cozy atmosphere and specially very nice and real Balinese people. There was so much to see, but we had only one day there so at first we went to see the monkey forest. A forest where was little monkeys like, well let's say a thousand. Monkeys are fun to watch: they eat and goofs around, hangs in the trees and makes funny noises... gotta love 'em. In the side of hanging in those coffee places, we drove a lot around to see big rice fields. Words cannot describe Ubud, so I'll let you wait for the pictures which are coming soon, hopefully. At this moment Taru is packing for her trip back home, it was a fun week to hang with her (excluding the vomiting part I guess) and hope she had a good time in Bali. So later dudes and peace out!
