Last post mentioned how Gili Air felt better than Trawangan. Well, it truly was better with fewer tourists, loud bars and pretty much everything I don't care about. We spent three days there, walked around the island and celebrated my birthday at the beach party meeting new people over a Bintang. Then we packed our packs and headed back to Bali. This time we travelled with the ferry during day time, so it wasn't that chilly to drive. Back in Bali we took the same accommodation. Last sunday was Arttu's last day here and we had plans to go to see Uluwatu beach and the surroundings. That day started with both feeling little sick, flu or something, but we decided to leave anyway. During the drive to Uluwatu, of course we encountered rainstorm and had to stop couple of times under some roofs. After some stops we arrived to Uluwatu and Arttu saw the focal point of Bali surfing, Yippee. On a way back our bad luck got even worse. Arttu's rear tire got flat and also we both felt little more feverish than in the morning. Well after the flat tire it was time for another s***storm, but this time it seemed to last for ages so we drove home all wet and cold. Rest of the day was just for resting... both sick like never before. Then Arttu left home last monday, I stayed at the same place until yesterday mostly sleeping my sickness away. Couple visits to the hospital was also needed, because I wanted to rule away the possibility of Dengue or Malaria. Tests were negative, so resting, painkillers and fluids were my daily routines... maybe the hardest 4 days during my Bali time.
My return flight was supposed to be last thursday, but being homeless, jobless and broke in Finland is not as fun as here, so I decide to stay. To get a new visa, I needed to leave Indonesia, so yesterday I arrived to Singapore. Last evening was raining a lot, so I just made a quick walk around my hostel, ate in a local restaurant some weird chicken&bread -thing called murtabak and after that went to bed. Today the sun was shining, so I walked to Orchard street, which is famous from the big ass shopping malls all over. I didn't buy anything, but it was fun just to walk around the places and feel the hectic business city to live its life. Everywhere was super clean and people wore tidy clothes... and then there was me, a sea water salted surf bum wearing flip flops and boardshorts.
One day in Singapore was enough for me, now I've seen the place. Today I will fly back to Bali and get my new visa. Then, when I'm fully covered from all the sickness, it's time to start to surf like good old days. I'm moving somewhere near Uluwatu, where still lives couple of my friends from school and also Lukas, whom I met during my spring break in Kuta Lombok, has arrived back to Uluwatu. This is going to be my last month before returning home, so may it be full of joy. Peace Out!
