Hard week behind, memorable week I'd say. I have gone through the whole circle of emotions, some good and some bad ones. After the bad news from last week, I've felt little down lately, which is not a surprise. One evening I just sat in the roof terrace alone, listened some good music, drank couple of whisky glasses and just thought back those good times I had with my dear friend. In the middle of dropping tears, those good memories I have, made me smile. Even though I usually deal with my stuff alone, I got a lot of support from the friends here but also from the friends and family back home... so thanks, wherever I may roam, that I can count on you!
Otherwise the last week has offered lots of surfing, couple nights out with friends and some studying of course. You already have seen the local outfit on me, but last workshop day the whole class learned how to actually wear those clothes. Second picture is from that session, try to find the big kahuna! Surfing... I really love surfing so how about I tell you a little more, again! I've been surfing with Dmitri this week. Besides the fact that Dmitri is an awesome surfer dude, he's a little more experienced surfer than me, so I can learn from him also a lot. First he showed me Pandawa beach, then we explored Green Bowl beach and yesterday was a big day out at Uluwatu. I have never surfed bigger waves than yesterday, I'd say about 2.5-3.5 meter height at least. Couple of more bigger waves also came in, but I really put my safety first so I let those pass by. Nevertheless the best day here, so far... and the feeling riding those big ass waves got me a bit closer to heaven.
I had a dream couple of nights ago, not so long and bright, but a good one. In that dream I was living in a van somewhere near the sea and waves, doing a breakfast with the gas flame and watching out from the window while zipping a cup of coffee. Didn't recognize the sea or other surroundings, but it was only me there, peace and quiet, felt like my personal happy place. Some might wonder how living in a van could be something to dream about, but for me that works like a charm as you can see in the last picture from my previous trips. Living a simple life on the road and have the possibility to go wherever you want. That's what I dream, even here in Bali. I haven't taken any longer trips here, so I guess the inner nomad (sisäinen vaeltaja in Finnish) woke up in that dream and wanted to put some movement in me.
Now I've been planning a trip to Medewi, west coast surfing spot with a good lefthander wave. I actually planned to leave tomorrow there, but last night I woke up with a huge pain in my toe. I had to take a pain pill to ease the pain and this morning I realized that my toe has got some infection. Now before my mom & dad are calling the ambulance and coming here, I wanna say that everything is under control and no worries. I just need to postpone Medewi and stay off from the surfboard couple of days... it's not gonna be easy though. Let's hope next weekend might be Medewi weekend and this weekend would be memorable some other way. Peace Out!
