Day 51 - Cape Range National Park (Tulki Beach Campground)
Wow talk about waking up in paradise. We started our day with a walk along tulki beach and looking at the beautiful turquoise crystal clear water. We saw an octopus, a prawn, sea cucumbers, fish, a stingray and dingo footprints.
We then walked back to the caravan and had to move to site 5. What a great campsite it is with great views of the ocean.
We had omelettes for breakfast then walked about a kilometre north down the beach so the boys could go fishing. Whilst the boys fished there were sea turtles swimming past constantly. Some were small and others were huge. I kept trying to take photos when they popped their heads out of the water but I didn’t do very well. Bronte and I enjoyed lots of beautiful swims although it’s windy so the water was choppy. Once Josh had enough fishing he played in the sand with Bronte and they swam while I chilled on my towel and read a magazine. Rog kept fishing but didn’t catch anything. I think we were relaxing at the beach for about 4 hours and we had the whole beach to ourselves. We then walked back to the caravan for a late lunch.
We chilled in the van (out of the wind) for a while and then as we were driving to check out Turquoise Bay an echidna walked across the road in front of us.
We joined all the other campers for happy hour and enjoyed watching the beautiful sunset.
We had dinner then the kids and I went for a walk along the beach. There were so many crabs everywhere and it was low tide so we saw one big fish jumping around but that was all. We also enjoyed the pitch black so we could star gaze
Today was definitely the most relaxing day of the holiday which is exactly what we all needed after yesterday.
