649 kms / 10 hrs
Cape Range National Park - Exmouth (fuel & water top up) - Halfway Bridge (near Tom Price)
We were up early this morning and on the road by 6:20am. We watched a nice sunrise as we drove out of the Cape Range National Park and had to be careful to dodge the kangaroos which were feeding next to the road.
We filled up with fuel and then went and topped up the water tank at the Visitor Information. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful driving 649 kms to Halfway Bridge which is 35kms south of Tom Price.
The scenery today was pretty and always changing. Lots of red dirt, greenery, trees, big boulders and mountains and finally we got to see some wildflowers. I'm not sure which ones as I haven't had a chance to check my book but pink, purple, yellow, white etc.
We had to dodge some grazing cows that were in the middle of the road and next to the road and we also saw a big flock of eagles (well I think they were eagles!)
We arrived at Halfway Bridge around 4:20pm so we set-up and then chatted to another couple who are staying here. There is 4 caravans/campervans all up. The kids had a play around inside and outside the caravan.
We had crumbed fish for dinner with vege's then an early night as everyone is pretty tired after a long drive.
We are heading to Tom Price in the morning to fuel and shop. We were going to go to the Rio Tinto's open cut iron ore mine tour but decided the kids wouldn't last the 1 ½ hours! Instead we will keep going to Karijini National Park
