Day 64 - Perth to Bunbury (172kms/2 hrs)
We left Perth at 10am and were very happy to be on the road again. We weren’t staying at a very good caravan park (they had a few issues with some of the perms) and we always got lost every time we drove in and out of the city (our Navman couldn’t cope with the freeways!).
On our drive we saw 2 alpacas being transported sitting down in the back of a special made trailer. Josh thought it was the best thing ever.
We filled up at Bunbury and arrived at the visitor information around 1pm to collect our camping permit.
We drove to our campsite at Ocean Drive and it’s such a great location right next to the beach you can hear the waves crashing.
We walked to the lighthouse (which is painted black & white checks) and then climbed to the top of the Marlston Hill Tower Lookout.
We then walked around the waters edge to Koombana Beach. This is where you can see the wild dolphins. We didn’t spot any but the kids had a great time at the anchorage cove foreshore park.
Rog coaxed them away from the park by offering to take them to the shops. Of course Bronte jumped at the opportunity. So off to target, typo & coles we went. Luckily the kids only had 30 mins to shop before closing time!
We then walked back to our caravan and decided to cook dinner at the public bbq area. So while Rog cooked the kids and I played frisbee and after dinner we enjoyed watching the sunset over geographe bay.
It was lovely going to sleep listening to the waves crash.
