Day 44 - Broome
We started our day in Chinatown. We looked at lots of Pearl Shops including Cygnet Bay Pearls where we saw the worlds largest fine quality white/pink round pearl at 22.24mm. We also looked in some other shops which the kids loved. As we were walking to Streeter’s Jetty (one of the oldest and only remaining jetty used by Pearl Luggers) a plane was about to land at Broome airport and it was so low we could nearly touch it! We then walked to Sun Pictures Cinema so the kids could see what an original outdoor cinema looks like. They both loved it and wished we could have returned in the evening to see a movie.
We walked to a lookout and the views were beautiful of the crystal clear and blue waters, white sand and red dirt.
Next we drove to the Port Jetty but the jetty is currently closed for maintenance so we walked onto the beach instead and the water is so beautiful. Rog was lucky enough to spot a turtle and then he spotted a shark.
We went back to the caravan for lunch and then we went back to Cable Beach for a swim. The kids wanted to hire a boggie board so we got out the beach lilos instead. It was funny watching them trying to catch a wave as they are too light for them. Rog & I had fun on them too and the water was beautiful.
We then had to drag the kids out of the water so the boys could go fishing back at The Port. Whilst the boys fished off the beach Bronte & I played cards and ate cheese & biscuits.
We ran into a couple from our horizontal Falls tour so we chatted to them until it got dark and was time to go.
Went back to the caravan for dinner via Woolworths.
