We had another slow morning and left the caravan around 9:30am. We went to the Apex Park and the kids had lots of fun on the play equipment and the water adventure area. We looked at Town Beach and the kids were desperate for a swim but we decided we would swim later. We went back to the Tourist Information to get some more info on Derby then did a quick shop at Woolworths then headed back to the caravan.
We had lunch then had a lazy afternoon at the caravan. The kids rode their bikes/scooters and played some games and watched a DVD. I cooked dinner in preparation for tonight.
We then headed to Cable Beach around 2:30pm. We went for a walk on the rocks and had a quick swim and once again Josh loved catching the waves in with his floaty on and this time he kept walking out pretty far as it was low tide. The camels arrived on the beach and the kids got so excited so we got changed then went and met the camels.
At 3:30pm we went on our 30 minute pre sunset camel ride along cable beach and we all loved it. I was a bit worried the kids would have been a bit scared but they were so excited. Initially we were going to be on the first two camels but then they put the 4 of us on the second camel called Jacko. He is a very fast camel from Uluru and came 2nd at the Broome races. Jo the camel behind us is the fastest camel and Josh was very excited telling everyone that Jo is his teacher!
After farewelling the camels we stayed on the beach to watch the sunset so Roger went for a swim and the kids built lines of camels in the sand and collected more shells, sea urchins and a couple of hermit crabs.
We watched the sunset over cable beach and then the kids had a quick play in the park before we headed back to the caravan park with a detour to top up the fuel before we depart tomorrow.
We had spaghetti and meat balls for dinner and then at 7:30pm we went and took the kids to the shooting range and watched a round of shooting. Josh loved it but poor Bronte was very scared and so I bought her back to the caravan.
We are heading to Derby tomorrow for 2 nights so we can travel the Gibb River Road and go to Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek. We initially weren't going to go there but everyone is telling us we have to.

Dana Creed After a stunning day we have the central heating pumping as it must have dropped about 15' in half an hour. I am envious of your summer attire. x D
