Day 43 - Derby to Broome (219kms/2.5hrs)
Again thankfully we didn’t have any issues at the caravan park last night and the police continued to patrol. Bronte got scared again though and ended up in our bed so none of us slept well.
We had a slow start and Bronte and I went for a walk towards the jetty. I made some phone calls to find out where to stay in Broome. We then said our goodbyes to our neighbours (where the kids spent many hours talking to them and playing with their dog!) and left Derby at 10am.
It was only a short drive to Broome and we arrived at Tarangau Caravan Park around 12:30pm.
We checked in, got set-up and had lunch. Then when we were walking to the amenities we saw a smashed car and I said to Rog I wonder if they hit a cow and sure enough they did. So we luckily have no damage compared to their car. Their dash cam also recorded over the footage too.
It was then time to hit Cable Beach for a swim. Such a beautiful view overlooking the beach and Josh couldn’t wait to get in the water. So down we walked to the water and we all enjoyed our swim. We then went for a walk along the beach towards the northern end. There are lots of 4WD, a kid riding a motorbike, a guy kitesurfing. Josh loved playing in the rock pools and finding fish and crabs. We looked at the camels then walked back and went for another swim.
We then had to drag the kids out of the water so we could head back to the caravan for dinner. While we got organised the kids rode their bikes around. There is also entertainment on tonight but we could hear the singing from our van so we didn’t bother going over to watch.
We had dinner and we did some trip planning then watched a movie.
