Minoan Village of Makrygialos, Myrtos & Agia Galini our next destination 18/9/17
Agia Galini, Greece
Today we leave Makrygialos and head for Agia Galini staying at Galini Breeze. On route we stop off at Myrtos for refreshment.
Agia Galini is a coastal village which is built up into the hills all boasting fabulous views of the coast. We chose Galini Breeze one of the highest just outside of the village but within walking distance all be it a very steep climb down and back up!
Accommodation: Paying around £600 for 5 nights it was worth every penny. Very different from the authentic Stonehouse as this was modern newly built. A very friendly Dutch couple owned and designed their complex themselves. Each room had a fridge small kitchen area with large balcony, all very private and a roof top terrace area, again private, specifically for your apartment. The swimming pool area overlooked the surrounding mountains and the village, just stunning. Towels provided at the poolside together with free coffee/tea and water. An honest book if you had any of the beers or wines in the fridge.
The hosts at Galini are the owners so you get the very best. They want you to enjoy every single minute and for everything to be perfect. They are there but not there, they leave you to enjoy and have the pool area etc to yourselves. You can pay extra for breakfast and this is ample, if you are sat at the pool side then morning coffee is brought to you together with cake. A couple of nights a week they invite all guests to the bar for a couple of drinks a chance to talk to them and other guests.
