Our Travels
Today was the first really sunny day since Julie had arrived in Hong Kong. As it was so clear we decided that it would be a great day to go up the Peak and see the views. We thought it would be nice to go up on the Peak Tram and were quite sure that there wouldn't be much of a queue at this time of year. WRONG!! We soon realised that quite a large crowd of people had decided to join us in taking advantage of the sunshine and visit the Peak by way of the tram! Luckily we only had to wait half an hour but remind us never to queue in the summer.
Julie enjoyed the trip on the tram although she did find the short journey a bit steep! Once we reached the top we found that the breeze was a bit chilly but the air was so clear that the views were beautiful in all directions and Julie was very pleased to be there. We spent some time walking about, doing the tourist thing and Julie was very brave, looking down on the view even though she doesn't like heights.
Luckily we didn't have to queue again for the journey back down on the tram. We had time to visit HSBC bank in Central before heading back to Happy Valley. Julie remembered visits to the bank from when she was in Hong Kong all those years ago.
Back at home we went on the roof to have a look at the plants and see how our bulbs are doing. In response to the recent rain and today's sunshine they were doing really well. Julie likes the lemon tree and was pleased to see that one or two of the lemons are now actually beginning to turn yellow.
Simon and Amanda had to go out to a seminar so Julie settled down to watch DVDs. She was still happily watching when they returned a couple of hours later ready for dinner!
