Well another busy day in Beijing, up at the crack of dawn with a slight hangover from last nights band night in the pub but it was too lovely a day to waste it. Well have had a random few weeks in beijing with visits to various temples - white cloud and tianning, a visit to chaos at the fragrant hills,a hen do in hooters and lots of fun.

So its been a very busy week with the parents here for the week, good job its half term although I think I need another week to recover from how much we have crammed in. The weather has been fantastic for a visit to the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Antiques market, a day at the tennis, the ballet plus much more.

The journey into Beijing was slightly hair raising as my taxi driver opted to take the back roads into the city to Hard Rock Cafe. Over taking with traffic coming towards, closed my eyes a few times to say the least. Nearly took out a pedestrian but she got back on the pavement just in the nick of time. Was relieved to get my beer at hard rock and just sit comfortably for a moment or three So popped into beijing to wanfurjing food market which is always a sight ...

So another trip to the Forbidden City and it was totally packed as it was a national holiday for tomb sweeping yesterday. Thats the same as us guys going to graves and putting flowers on them so I am led to believe. The City has defo been painted since I went there last time. Advice to anyone coming to China do not go to the local attractions on a national holiday as everyone does whether it be to the zoo or to places of historical interest its the same all over...
