Finally in Sydney and what a great place it is!!! Staying in Kings Cross which is a bit colourful to say the least, strip bars, prostitutes etc but it was cheaper than staying in the city and we are on quite a quiet street.
The first time we saw the Opera House and Harbour Bridge was amazing. They are both so big and when you think of Sydney they are the 2 icons you associate with it! The Opera House is amazing from all angles, we were really impressed. Think we both like the bridge better though. The Opera House is starting to look a bit dated but the bridge is just fab. Its huge and I dont think it will ever age. Cant wait to climb it!
Quite a few of our friends from down the coast are in Sydney so we have had a great time catching up with all of them. Sarah and Sophie are both working here and we've had some great days and nights out with them. Spent alot of time with Gavin, but havnt we all down the coast? We've seen Sam who we originally met in Agnes Water and spent New Year with. Also met up with Tom who we travelled through Asia with. Bens friend Nathan is also working over here so we've had a few cheap nights out on him!
We've done all the normal sights like the parks and the shops, we have travelled on the ferry from Darling Harbour (which is beautiful) to Circular Quay. We have been to the Blue Mountains and climbed the bridge.
Manly was lovely, maybe if the hostels werent as expensive we would have gone there for a week but we just made do with a day on the lovely beach. Coogee was nice, quieter beach but we werent as fussed on the town itself. Bondi beach just reminded us of a British seaside town. We had to go there because its so famous but it hasnt been our favourite beach. Thats probably been Bronte which is the beach just south of Bondi. It is beautiful, so much quieter and smaller than Bondi and prettier!
Still got another day in sydney so will add more soon xxxx
