We had no idea that Australia Day was such a big event all over Australia and especially in Sydney. We met up with Gavin, Sarah and Sophie around 2pm we all had hongovers from the night before!! We had been told that Darling Harbour was the best place to be and that fireworks were going to be set off at 9pm.
It was such a good party atmosphere on the Harbour. We went to a few bars had a couple of drinks and some food, a photographer was taking some photos and much to our suprise the next day we were both in the Sunday Telegraph just the 2 of us with our Australain flags wow!! after food we got some really good seats on the Harbour they had a station set up in the middle of the Harbour with a big screen and everyone was semi circuled around it. We were inpatient so we caught a ferry around to the Opera House to check things out and when we got back our seats had dissappered!! The Harbour was packed out and they had a show on, Ships, Lifeguards and the NSW governor was paraided and everyone was in good spirits.
When the clock hit 21.00 the music went very loud and the fireworks erupted spectaculary all different colours flying everywhere this went on for about 7 minutes and was just amazing had to be the best fireworks we've ever seen no expense spared!! It also signalled the end of the celebrations and everyone went off to bars to continue there good day plus there was live music in Hyde Park!! The ozzies really no how to celebrate and the weather helps.
