Today we again had a bit of a sleep in - even though we woke up very early as usual to the sounds of the dog barking and the rest of the family. For the first time since we had been in Italy it was raining... a lot. We all stayed in bed for a lot of the morning and then mucked around and watched some Netflix and chilled. We had more pasta for lunch and then after lunch Navajo and I watched a movie, while Cecilia watched her TV show. We relaxed at home for the afternoon and when the rain finally cleared around 6pm we all headed out for a bit of exercise, only getting rained on for a few minutes in the middle.
We all got home around the same time and jumped in the shower and got ready to go out for our last dinner together. As usual eating wasn’t early, so we left home at 8:30pm. We went via Irene’s house to say hello as she had called in to say hi while we were out. They had just got home from their honeymoon in Peru (she used to live next door to us). After a quick chat we jumped back in the car and headed up to the restaurant - it was in such an amazing place, overlooking the country side, with big glass windows inside to watch the sunset, it was really nice. The two of us got the two most traditional Italian dishes and shared them, we had to embrace full Italian for one last time. Many laughs were shared at dinner as the realisation of leaving became more real. Tiramsu and coffee and then we were on our way home again. We got home at midnight and said a sad goodbye to Giovanni’s girlfriend and headed inside.
Once we were ready for bed Giovanni came in and said goodbye as he was leaving for work early in the morning and we wouldn’t see him. That’s when it started to get a bit sad for me. We said goodbye and jumped into bed for one last sleep at ‘home’.
