We tried to have one last sleep in but we were all awake pretty early again. Though, we didn’t get out of bed until about 11am when Greta came to say goodbye. Greta stayed for an hour chatting away and laughing and talking about all the good times, before she had to go. In the meantime we found a huge spider that Navajo and Cecilia were very scared of and I wasn’t a fan either, but Greta was in her zone trying to catch it - she was unsuccessful. Saying goodbye was very sad and involved some tears, but we had no choice.
Afterwards the two of us headed upstairs to start sorting out suitcases. When Beatrice got home we had out last lot of Italian pasta for lunch and had a chat at the table and then some tears as we listened to sad goodbye songs that we used to listen to when I was leaving in 2015.
Once we had finished lunch we headed upstairs, packed, showered and before we knew it, it was time to go. Erminio loaded the bags into the truck and we were all outside when the car decided it wouldn’t start. So the three girls pushed the car out of the entrance and Erminio got the neighbour so we could jump start it, and we were on the road to the airport. Though, in true Italian style, everything gets exaggerated, so we made a quick stop on the way for A NEW CAR BATTERY! Once that was swapped over we carried on our two hour journey to Milan airport.
We got there nice and early and headed upstairs for our last meal together - and more pizza for us! Once we were finished we went down to check in, in what we think was the slowest moving line ever! When we finally got checked in we had less than two hours to get through security, passport control, and to out gates so we said out goodbyes and went through. As usual, goodbyes were very sad and hard, it is always hard saying goodbye to people that are so special, especially when you don’t know when you’ll see them again. So with lots of tears we said goodbye and walked through security. The rest of the trips it was me getting pulled aside for some sort of test, but this time Navajo was pulled aside for several drug tests, lucky for us she was fine and we carried on through. We had a quick stop in duty free for a look and then carried on the very long walk to passport control and then onto gate. By the time we got there we only had 30 minutes until boarding so time we very quickly by the time we grabbed a drink and a snack and before we knew it we were on the plane on the way to London.
