Day 70. Sunday breakfast so we cooked up some scrambled eggs and toast. During the night another long bulk carrier train going to the port woke us, sounded like it was about to run over our van! Today we are driving up the nearby beautiful Chapman Valley for a day trip. But first shopping at the Sunday markets at the old Geraldton Railway Station. The Chapman Valley is so green with rolling hills and farms, wide expanses of yellow canola, a lavender farm and even a microbrewery. The tiny village of Nabewa not much to see so we drove over the hill to Northampton for lunch in the park and a walk around the old heritage buildings and pubs in the main street. Another beautiful stone church and convent designed by Monsignor Hawes. Back in Geraldton we just had to visit the big Bunnings warehouse and the fishermens wharf for a final photo. Dinner tonight barbecued lamb chops, veggies and gravy. Fine sunny day 19 degrees, drove 120km. Tomorrow we head inland to the wildflower country.
