Awoke to sunshine and low flying aircraft!
My former work collegue John was camped nearby in another caravan park so we arranged to go for a bike ride from Kirra Beach to Currumbin Creek. Lots of others had similar plans but it was lovely to see the Pacific Ocean again after being in the outback! (well, the edge of the outback at least!) John and his partner came to our park for afternoon tea and we were also invited to the Horse Races during the afternoon in the common room which had us wondering what we were in for! This was great fun and the park people had organised a fun social event with 6 soft toy horses on a tabletop racetrack and rolling of 6 dice to advance the appropriate horse. The odds changed during betting ($1 coin bets) which was displayed on the T.V. About 40 people attended, many regulars and many who come every year and stay for 3 months. We are going against the trend and leaving tomorrow!
