Departure day from Noosa (Camp Cooroora) today sadly as it has been one of the nicest places we’ve stayed at. Chatting to the manager’s wife she told us that the place is going to be bulldozed in a couple of years time to build a new dam wall. What a shame. Drove down the Hwy to the Glasshouse Mountains and to the scenic lookout which had been improved since I was last there. Had coffee and took in the view before driving through Brisbane via the Gateway Bridge and down towards the Gold Coast. Tried to turn off for lunch at a driver reviver but took the wrong exit at a roundabout and ended up miles away in Jacobs Well. Had lunch in the van in a No Through Road but managed to back into a side street to escape back to the motorway, through the Gold Coast and settled at the Murwillumbah Showgrounds. Great view of Mount Warning where the hardy can climb in the dark to arrive at the summit for sunrise which is the first place sunlight shines on Australia in the morning. (we are not that hardy!) Watched some people using dogs to round up cattle which was interesting then a short bike ride around town before dinner.
