Left Murwillumbah by about 9:00am in more glorious weather. Turned left instead of right out of the Showgrounds as the GPS hadn’t quite kicked in and ended up driving along the Tweed Valley Way, a hilly windy road but with lovely scenery. Arrived in Ballina an hour or so later and settled into the Reflections Caravan Park. The internal road was a little tight and I narrowly missed knocking over a plastic waste skip which I noticed was on wheels and would probably have rolled onto the neighbouring camp! Once there rang a friend that my brother and I met on an under 30’s coach trip back in 1979 and haven’t seen since! We had lunch together which was lovely and quite an experience. After that Lisa and I drove to nearby high cliffs and watched paragliders launch themselves into the updraft and fly overhead. Very spectacular. Finally, had a bike ride out to the end of the breakwater and back before dinner.
