As we unhitched yesterday I noticed that our red Anderson plug that connects caravan to car had broken and so our first task for the day was to try and source another, a task made more difficult by the pea soup fog engulfing Dubbo! We tried at Jaycar yesterday but they only had the grey plugs. My first mistake was driving to Dubbo RV Centre, a place that sounded promising for the item required. Google led us to the spot where it should have been however, it didn’t exist anymore. After a lot of driving and the realisation that I can’t drive through unlined roundabouts without assistance from my wife, we came to Repco that was able to provide the plugs! (and was right next door to Jaycar where we were yesterday!) Coffee urgently required! Feeling more relaxed we returned to the campsite only to discover that the bloody plug didn’t fit the socket! (blood pressure pills required) I took to the plug in desperation with the drill and ‘modified’ it to fit which did work but was still a bit tight. Decided to hitch up and head for Coonabarabran passing by Repco en route. We bought a different brand red anderson which fitted perfectly! On then to Coonabarabran where we booked in at a caravan park for 2 nights. Clear skies and the fire pit used again.
