We started the day by hiring mountain bikes from a local hire shop. They were hard tails but good bikes regardless. We headed down to the health centre where Gavin was going to get his ears syringed out. That took about 3/4 hour but at least he can now hear again. After a lengthy train trip and several changes we made it to Windermere in the Lake District. We were expecting a small town and were worried about food supplies. As it turns out this a big town with another largish town on the Lake itself. So we won't go hungry. There are tourists galore. Tomorrow we are hiring bikes to explore the lake and maybe leave the crowds behind. Our accommodation is adequate for our needs. Bearing in mind houses in the UK are in general...
