We are spending just one night in Glasgow which is probably just about the right amount of time. We had lunch at a cafe where I used what has to be the smallest toilet I have ever seen. Thought aircraft toilets are squeezy? I now realize they are positively palatial. The women sitting next to us at the cafe said not to use the loo as the door was small. To be more accurate, the door was normal size. Unlike the room. So, I opened the door and was faced with a basin in front of me with the toilet room on its right. Problem was getting into the toilet room. The door barely cleared the toilet so the only way in was to climb over the toilet seat into the space behind the door! I was worried I wouldn't get out again! We visited the Gallery of Modern Art. Unfortunately we are not very appreciative of modern art. We walked across the River Clyde (not literally. We used a foot bridge. There's a good chance we blew any chance we are ever going to walk on water in the Gallery of Modern Art.) but it isn't a particularly impressive River. We were going to walk to the Botanic Gardens but it was too far so we walked a few miles and then turned back. The hotel we are staying was only opened 6 weeks ago so everything is nice and new. The Council Chamber building is very nice. Full of marble and mosaic. It was built in the 1800's. Unfortunately most of Glasgow's old architecture has been replaced with modern buildings. Not much else to say about Glasgow.
