Today we planned to go out clubbing with Mark and Michael the other English people in the hotel. We might not be in Mumbai much longer and they wanted to show us a restaurant they liked and I fancied a club called Polly Esther's, it said the bar staff all wore afro wigs and the music was 70s and 80s. During the day we needed to pop into Bandra, Vincent's shoes were uncomfortable and leaking, we'd spotted some he liked the other day near Croma Mall and as we had to get our warranty card stamped we made it two birds with one stone. The weather wasn't great so we tuk tuk'd it over to Bandra and got both things sorted in record time, there was even a pair of ultimate bling sandals that Vincent convinced me to buy. (They sparked much singing of the 'lets get some shoes' song!) We walked back along linking road and Vincent nearly convinced me to buy a matching clutch purse, but I freaked at the girliness of it and ended up unable to chose between a silver clutch purse with a spider in diamonte on it and a kind of 'snap-top' purse with a bling handle! I ended up saying if my stuff for the club didn't fit in my jeans pocket I wouldn't take it any way so no purse was purchased. On the walk back I started to feel tired (possibly still suffering a little from the excess of Indian water I have been consuming) so we grabbed a tuk tuk (well it was only 10p!) and went for a chill out before dinner.Mark was suffering with the Indian water problem so sadly we left him behind (the whole thing had really been his idea) and got on the train to Churchgate. Michael found the restaurant he liked in record time and we intended to sit down and have a nice long meal. After the spring roll starter though we felt stuffed and chatted for a while trying to work up an appetite. Eventually we decided that if we were to get out in time, clubs here close at 2.00am and it was getting close to 11.30pm, we just had time for desserts! Yummy banana pancakes were my choice then we grabbed a cab for Polly's. As usual the driver got lost, but only slightly. When we got to the door however a burly bouncer looked at Vincent and said 'no vests!' I had mentioned before that only the great unwashed wear vest tops but all the rest of our clothes were at the laundry so there was no choice really. The bouncer then solved the problem by saying Vincent should wear my satin jacket! We debated this for a bit and when he tried it on I had to laugh a little, but Michael to the rescue he turned up the collar pulled it all straight and in we went! The entrance was steep at 3000rs but your ticket was 2600rs of drinks vouchers (and really a tenner each for entry and 2 drinks each was quite cheap UK wise!)We boogied the night away to Wham, Michael Jackson and Simon and Garfunkel!
