More rain today. I tell you what, I will tell you when it stops as all these start with the weather (how British of me). Anyway today the waiting game paid off as I got the problems with the visa resolved, after a chat between "sir" and me. He said if we couldn't do it any different way he said he would be my employer so he could give me the letter for the visa to be changed, he said this would not be a problem. Armed with this info I rang Eve form the Goa hotel to find out what was happening. I was relieved when we talked that it wasn't to do with visas (unlike the Sutherland global services, who never rang us) but trains. She was sorting out what day we could get on the train. She had spoken to the hotel manager, and he cant wait to have me there (he's not meet me yet), and she still wanted to go and work there. Eve is going to go with her daughter to London to start her at collage and wont be back for ten days. Her husband will get the tickets and sort out transfers both ends and then ring us. Eve told me the train journey is beautiful and I shouldn't miss it by flying (I think she would have flown me otherwise). So yes back to the waiting but this time I have a good idea what's coming. First we have a trip out with the boys tomorrow to bars in Colaba, including Leopold's (the bar in Nicole's book). Maybe go to the Elephant island caves Sunday, as the boys went today and said to go. By Monday I expect to be on the way to Goa and my first job outside the UK. I am very excited to work in a hotel as a food and beverage manager, but to do it in India! Eve also told me that I am the only other member of management there and that I would have a free hand to change things. I think I may change lots of things, I may even try to get Nicole to teach some of the staff English! The boys from Leicester will also be in Goa (after travelling to see the Taj Mahal) and they happen to be a chef and a singer, so maybe they could come to work with me. In India anything could happen as nothing seems to have a plan it just happens, or doesn't. I now understand that there are no Plans, no processes, no addresses, just ideas, ideologies, and approximations. If you ask how to do something you get as many answers as people you ask. The synergy of the city and the animals birds and trees is the same, it shouldn't work but it does.We had dinner in the hotel again, the food is lovely and the rain is still pouring. We met up with the two guys from Leicester and had another long chat about the trials and tribulations of travelling India over a leisurely dinner. Half way through dinner the other European looking guy in the bar came over and introduced him self as Joe from Dublin and he and Vincent got on like a house on fire and stayed in the bar while I msn'd Caroline, Amy and Shaun.
