Today we needed a rest we just chilled out and made friends with Talon our new laptop. We ventured out to find a working cash point so we could pay the hotel for our room, bought some snacks then returned to read our book. After dark we watched bats for a time. In the day it's a mass of pigeons, crows, Larry's and millions of huge dragonflies that fill the air, but at night its bats. There are the small ones we all see very rarely at home, here they are common, but there are also huge horned bats. Looking out the window you see them fly about one every minute (often the same bat). But they are proper hammer house of horror bats on steroids. (about the size of a flying guinea pig! They are flying fox giant bats, we Wikipedia'd them N. Ed.) Over dinner (downstairs again!) I explained to Nicole about Cricket, the rules I know and the signs the umpire makes as well as the famous players I used to watch with my Grandad. I have only a little knowledge but it's all the rage to watch it in dive (and I don't mean underground) bars here, so it seemed appropriate. The food was excellent we had lasoony, or garlic nan. Each nan must have had a whole bulb of garlic on it, it tasted fantastic, and the half bottle of vodka (that's how they serve it!) was only about one pound fifty and that as they say was that.
