Neil's Round the World Trip!
I got up early for class, grabbed a roll and ran off to school. I'm always late, it's quite funny the teachers know they can have a cup of coffee when they have me as I'm nearly always 10 minutes late! My teacher today was Lucha. We did various exercises although one exercise had me totally stumped. We covered pronouns later as it's useful when retelling a story. On my break I chatted to a Dutch girl called Molika who is here learning Spanish and doing volunteer work in a poor Quechuan community. She is living with other volunteers in the city. It's Marco's final day learning Spanish in CBBA. He's flying to Santa Cruz tomorrow. He gave me his email address and invited me to hang out in Austria sometime which I'll probably do as I've never been and he told me all about the nightlife and high living in Zurich just across the border from him. He's right on the border between Austria and Swizerland in the beautiful Alpine mountains.
I returned to my lesson and did a number of exercises. Lucha asked me about "a" she doesn't understand why the a in hat is pronounced differently from the a in hate. I think maybe it's because there is an e at the end of the word...but I could be wrong.
I returned to my house and had lunch. We watched their fave tv show "Iso Facto" a political satire show. I paid for my clothes to be washed as they were humming.
I got the bus into the city with Marco and Melanie. We went to Cafe Francés and chilled out. We all had strong coffees and then headed to the "La Cancha" market. I bought a bag of peanuts, we walked through the huge complex of stalls selling everything from llama jumpers, coca leaves, Bolivian flags, Jesus Christ ornaments etc. We walked back to the Plaza Principal and chilled in the park watching a demonstration (what a surprise!). I had a minging dinner which consisted of this greasy, chewy meat and cheese that smelled like my walking boots! I went to my room and studied then went to bed with verbs swirling around inside my head...coger, colgar, dormir..hmm I like that verb!
