Neil's Round the World Trip!
I got up so late today I didn't bother with a shower. I arrived at the school and was taught by Mary. She was ok if a little boring and she tended to go off on a tangent at times. I was given a lecture on pronouns which I've already studied so was bored rigid with mind-numbing exercises. The class with Mary tired me out. My head was about to explode before I had the coffee break.
Today is "Dia Del Maestro" which means day of the teacher. So we had free empanadas and fresh orange juice laid on by the school. I had some banter with the rest of the students and then had the rest of my class.
I returned to the house and had my lunch which was the same meat from the previous night; foul. I wrote out verbs in the afternoon and around 5 Pedro came round. We headed into the city with Melanie, Darcy and Jaqueline.
We bought tickets for "La Profecia" at the cinema. In English that's "The Omen". We then had some salteñas in a restaurant. I had 3..shocking but they are terrific! We sat in the Coca Bar and had some beers. Darcy got scared and decided she was going home (no I think she had a stomach ache). However just before the film our team was reduced to 3 as Pedro decided sitting in a cramped seat (they are really bad) for 2 hours wasn't his idea of fun. The film was actually quite good, I don't really watch over-hyped horror films but it was captivating. The noise was incredible, they definitely cranked the volume to the max on the speakers. At the end we filed out with the youth of CBBA and got a taxi back to XXIII. When I phoned the taxi, the controller recognised my voice and basically said in Spanish "Is that you Morrison?" so we had a bit of banter..it was funny.
As we drove out of the centre we noticed the large number of indigenous people sleeping rough on the streets.
