Annie woke up in the middle of the night for the toilet so at the same time I took Tally out and the floodlights were still shinning brightly around the car park! It was just starting to spit with rain so I brought in everything that could get wet and climbed back into bed just as the heavens opened. When I woke up again it was 630am and Tally was ready to play! Luckily the rain had stopped and it was quite warm outside. We played until 730 when Annie woke up wanting the toilet so Tally climbed into bed with Nick while I walked Annie to the ablutions block. By the time we got back everyone was awake so we started breakfast and then packed up the car to go and explore the Blue Mountains. Tally did her usual carry on as we set off but settled down after about 10 minutes and fell asleep. It took us about 45 minutes to get to Wentworth Falls, a very pretty little village full of beautiful old weatherboard houses and stunning gardens. Blossom trees lined every street in all sorts of different colours. We stopped off at the National Park to see the Falls but dogs weren't allowed to Nick stayed in the car with Annie and Matty while Jonny, Katharine and I visited Jamison Look-Out for views of the Gorge and the Wentworth Falls Look-Out for views of the waterfall - all very stunning. A police helicopter was flying around the Gorge and multiple crews were standing at the lookout as apparently someone had been reported as missing - it made Jonny's day!! From Wentworth Falls we drove to Katoomba, another very pretty town, and parked at Echo Point to view The Three Sisters. Although we found a park just two minutes from the viewing platform it took for ever to walk it as a bus load of tourists pulled up at the same time and they all wanted to take photos of Tally!! Katharine counted 21 different people wanting a pat - Tally was in pure heaven!! We found a lollie shop on the way back to the car and the kids spent the last of their pocket money - Jonny cracked it as he didn't have any money left and walked out of the shop in tears!! We drove back to Wentworth Falls and had a picnic by the Lake. The kids played in the playground and once they'd had enough we headed home to a much needed coffee. Nick made us all dinner while I finished off some work and we kept popping outside to see the old air force planes fly overhead. We are right next door to the Richmond RAAF base and throughout the day old planes come in really close to land - it's pretty impressive and tonight we could see the pilots in the cockpit!! We had a couple of games of Gubs before the kids went to bed but it took them forever to fall asleep as they were all a bit hyper! Nick and I were the opposite and we just needed to veg out in front of the TV!!
