Happy Birthday Katharine - 11 today!! She woke up at 530am and managed to wait until 7am before jumping on us to get the day started. It was still raining outside so we opened presents around the table and then Nick made everyone lemon and sugar crepes for breakfast. Hayley (aka Lampshade) face timed Katharine and it was lovely to catch up with the Savages for half an hour (- it made her day Lampy xx). We decided to brave the rain and walk up the hill behind us to the light station where they have a teahouse. All covered up in our raincoats we sat outside and watched the rain come down over the bay, not being able to even see Tomaree Head where we walked yesterday. After a Devonshire tea we checked out the gift shop and by the time we got home we were absolutely soaked. It soon started to thunder so we sat inside and watched a movie and Katharine had a call from Poppy Jon and Grandma. After a late lunch and birthday cake we drove into Salamander Bay and spent the rest of the day ten-pin bowling. Katharine had a very dodgy start but managed to win the second game so was very happy. It was dark by the time we got home so the girls had a quick shower and got frocked up and then we out to dinner. We ate at the local RSL club, which was massive - three choices of restaurants inside, a play area for kids, pokies and live entertainment. We ate at the brasserie where they had a fantastic selection of roast meats and all the trimmings. The three smaller ones wolfed down their food so that they could go and play which left Katharine, Nick and I plenty of time for a good chat! We went back into town for dessert and had an ice cream on the wharf while sheltering from the rain. Once home Matty, Jonny and Anna fell fast asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow and Katharine sat up with us and watched a movie - she said it was her best birthday ever!!
