It rained ALL night and our tin car is really a dry weather home! By 11 pm water was dripping down the inside of the canvas beds. We kept the heating on all night to try and dry it out as much as possible but that didn't help sleep as it was quite noisy. When we eventually got up around 730 am the rain had finally stopped and the sun was out but the wind was icy and we all stayed rugged up all day. We spent the morning on the schoolbooks and it was a struggle for everyone after a few days off. While the kids worked I baked a cake and made some shortbread to take with us to the ACT then after lunch we drove back into Orange to have a look around in better weather. We found a fantastic park near the centre of town called Cook Park, which was full of colour and had a great aviary that the kids loved. The houses surrounding the park were also stunning! Once everyone had had enough of the cold, we drove to the outskirts of town and found Woollies to top up on groceries and on the way home we called back into the Hillside Orchard for more fruit and jams. Back at the van the kids had a much needed run around while we made dinner and then we all had a quiet night inside with the heating on in front of the TV. There was snow in the Blue Mountains last night so the kids' chances of seeing snow this trip are getting stronger!!!
