Woke up around 730am and had planned a leisurely pack up but it all got a bit frantic in the end and it was a relief to be finished around 11am. We sat and had a final coffee with Doris and Joerg and then said our goodbyes before hitting the road. We drove to Moruya and found a council campground at North Head, right next door to the airport!! First impressions were fairly dismal - there wasn't much grass and the ground was pretty uneven so one downpour and we will be in a mud bath! It would be fine if it were free but its $24 a night - no power, no water but there is a flushing toilet! We had looked at some caravan parks in the area and they were all over $55 a night. We set up and had lunch followed by a coffee, using the generator. Nick went to do the dishes and found the hot water wasn't working. After doing all the trouble shooting suggestions outlined in the manual it still wasn't working so as a last resort he decided to change the gas bottles over, and bleeding the gas hose seemed to do the trick! By now it was about 4pm so we decided to find the beach and have a walk. The campground is nestled between Bengelio Beach, Moruya River and the airport. Once we found the beach we saw the attraction of the place. The beach was stunning - squeaky sand, rolling surf and clear blue water. A few people had braved the cold and were surfing but we just walked until we had had enough and then turned around. One the way home we explored the campground - it's much bigger then we first thought and while we were walking through it we watched a plane take off. Back at the van we began dinner, had very quick showers and were all ready for bed before 8pm as there is a noise curfew on generators - strange seeing as the planes kept coming and going!!
