Woken up early by all the fishing boats going out but drifted back to sleep until around 8am. Had a long slow breakfast and then did a couple of loads of washing, as it was a beautiful sunny day. The kids spent the morning swimming in the pool, even though it was freezing, and playing on the jumping pillow. Around 11am we headed into Merimbula to top up on groceries before the long weekend. As the weather was stunning we explored the beaches first driving out to Bar Beach and the Wharf before heading back and having a walk and a play on Mitchies Beach. The water was much clearer then Twofold Bay, as there is no seaweed and there were a few waves for the surfers. Eventually we headed into town and hit Woollies but it was a disastrous shop as none of us were in the mood! By the time we got back to the caravan park the wind had picked up and the best part of the day was over, so plans to swim at our beach were shelved! Katharine and I spent the afternoon making a sticky date pudding using the camp kitchen oven and then we cooked a roast lamb on the bbq - awesome. We all ate far too much and spent the evening watching a bit of TV before bed.
