Eventually got to sleep last night without our boys being with us and was woken by them knocking at the door at 730am very excitable having had a great time with Grace on their first sleep over. It was a beautiful day with the sun shining so after breakfast we walked our beach for a bit and then drove into Byron Bay for an explore. We went into town first and drove along the beach to Cape Bryon to visit the lighthouse. There was no parking so Nick dropped Grace, Katharine and me off and arranged to pick us up half an hour later. We walked up to the lighthouse, which was the most easterly point of Australia and watched multiple pods of dolphins playing in the shallow waters below the cape. We met back up with Nick, parked in town and found a fantastic spud, salad and wrap bar for lunch. We then explored the high street for coffee and ice cream and there was sooo much choice - Bryon is an eating haven! We found a French patisserie for the adults and an awesome ice cream shop for the kids. We walked along the beach while we ate everything and in the middle of it all Anna lost her second tooth - she is now as gappy as the boys!! We drove back to the Cape and parked the car at Watego's Beach - an awesome spot! We took the walk over the cape to Little Watego's Beach and watched three different whales playing close by - one of them was swimming in the wrong direction!! We had a paddle in the water and climbed over the rocks back to the car. On the way home we called into the Green Garage, a huge shop selling all local produce, and found some tasty jams and pickles to improve our budget sausages!! Back at the van we had a rest for an hour or so and the kids all made Grace a loom band bracelet then we walked into the village for a curry. It was cheap and tasty and we were home an hour later! We spent the evening sitting in front of the TV, as everyone was shattered after a day of such activity. Early beds for everyone!!
